Visceral primal energy coupled with sophisticated lyricism.

If you want a crisp modern Elijah in Mendelssohn’s original German this may well be a satisfactory bargain.

Steinbacher is engaging and stylish as ever and is complemented by sensitive support from Petrenko.

This project of putting Daniel Purcell into the spotlight has turned into a rather tame affair.

A very fine reading of Rachmaninov’s great symphony, which stands up pretty well against strong competition.
