Rather a mixed bag of music but the singing by Accentus is consistently good.

Musical poise and endearing modesty leave the listener both deeply satisfied and wanting more.

This disc impressively documents the art of the cornett and the brilliance of the cornettists of the time around 1600.

A rather mixed bag but valuable for quite a lot of music from rare operas.

Rather short timing but all the performances are first ever recordings.

A nuanced and wide-ranging disc that proves a feast for those wanting relaxed colour centring on the French muse.

A confused program that’s still fun for the ears, especially for the discovery of the Korean Dances.

These musicians respond to the challenges and demands of this mixed repertoire with aplomb and conviction.

Film-maker Peter Rosen has succeeded in his purpose very well indeed.

Fine indeed.

The choral music here is well performed but is best taken in small doses.

This lovely recital of Japanese songs.

A wide range of really wonderful Czech repertoire. Look past the cover photo, though you may not be able to get past the voice.

Julius Klengel - A Celebration Raphael Wallfisch, Sebastian Comberti, Sarah Butcher, Ben Chappell, Joely Koos (cello) Martin Ennis (organ) rec. 2009-11 CELLO CLASSICS CC1024 [72:47] [JW]

Klengel was one of the most important figures in the history of the cello.

The programming isn’t that imaginative and the performances of the vocal items are not an unqualified success.
