EDGAR BAINTON - List of Piano Works
Bainton was a very accomplished pianist in the
composer-pianist tradition of his time. He was soloist in his
own Concerto Fantasia on several occasions, and his own playing
can be heard in surviving archive recordings, particularly the
Cello Sonata (John Kennedy/Composer, Columbia LOX 811-2). Unfortunately
the published piano solo works, though well-written and effective,
are of a lightweight, educational variety, though there are notable
exceptions (listed with *). The list below is in chronological
order:
