After listening for some time to the kind of music that makes your mind work overtime, it is always nice to sit back in a comfortable chair and listen to good songs, well sung with well crafted, polished arrangements played by a group of first class musicians. This album is just that, there is also variety Paula Cole duets with Gary on track one and there are some nice trumpet passages played by Chris Botti. Later in the album Bob Sheppard makes a significant contribution on soprano and tenor saxes . A minor criticism would be that the album gets bogged down with slow numbers between track 10 and 13 and the 21 seconds of track 14 is lost on me.
If you study the list of songs, they are by the world’s greatest composers and Gary LeMel, who has a pleasant baritone voice, has made his task a lot easier by hiring the best arrangers and the best musicians to play on his backing tracks.
A man who does all this deserves to succeed, I hope he does! Don Mather
