thoughtful, emotionally fleet and powerfully recorded
This brings together all (we hope) of the many and
varied resources created over the years on Musicweb in an organised
makes them easier to access, and hopefully allows readers to find material
that they didn't even know existed.
While the overriding focus is on
the resources we have created, including those which link to external
the Orchestra and Online Music pages, we have decided
to include links to some external sites which we consider to be very
are indicated with the symbol ,
and clicking on these links will open up a new window.
It should be noted that the links below do not cover
resources that are specific to an individual composer. They also do
not include one-off articles on an isolated topic - these can be found
by searching the What's
Books & Reference Works
These are major resources exclusively available on MWI, and include some
previously published books that are no longer available in hardcopy.
The Philip Scowcroft Collection
This includes Garlands,
a major series of articles on British light music composers extracted from
his book on the subject, as well as numerous articles on a wide range
of musical topics.
External Classical Music Sites There are many, many websites dedicated to some aspect of classical
music. It is not the intention to list all of them - an impossibility anyway
- but provide a link to those which we consider to be important.
