I find this disc to be quite irritating in its format. As can be seen, it is a mixture of conversation, piano solos and duets. Whilst this is quite plainly highly informative it is not something I would choose to listen to on a regular basis. Much of the conversation would be of little interest to the non-specialist listener and is not so riveting as to attract the more expert to repeated auditions. One could argue that it would be easy to sequence the disc to only play the musical examples, but does one wish to go through this process each time?

The actual playing is excellent, but there are many examples of these players available (particularly Evans) to render this offering only of interest to the completist, educationalist or archivist.
