In many ways Belgian tenor player Bobby Jasper was to Paris what Ronnie Scott was to London. Always one of the best players around and always heard in the best company that the country could produce. Obviously strongly influenced by the Stan Getz Quintet of the time, which featured Jimmy Raney on Guitar, this was a very well schooled bunch of musicians playing extremely together.

Pianist Rene Urtreger had at one time set his heart on the conservatoire, but after hearing Charlie Parker changed his mind in favour of jazz.

The selection of tunes is excellent, every one fits the style of the group perfectly, which is an element often missing on many such albums. Sacha Distel has made a lot of money as a Pop singer, but I'm sure he would rate this among his best ever performances. The rhythm section is very cohesive and I found it great fun to listen to.
