Russian composer Boris Aleksandrovich Tchaikovsky provides the scores for two
1960s productions that will not be widely known to casual movie fans, Aibolit-66
(1966), a musical fairy tale and the comedy Balzaminov's Marriage (1964).
With its mixture of classical, jazz and elements of folk music this is a distinctive,
if somewhat dated example of popular Russian film music and may appeal to either
those in search of cultural variety or admirers of 60s oddities. Frankly though
there is little here to tempt more conventionally minded film music fans and
this is probably best left to those who have a passion for curios.
