THOMAS K. THORNTON
Thomas Thornton fell in love with piano music at age 5 and started
taking lessons when he was 10. Even so, he studied German literature
in Freiburg, Germany, and Santa Barbara, California, and after
a brief academic career became an editor and executive editor
in book publishing in New York, where he also worked as a children's
and fathers' rights advocate. Following the 2000 presidential
election he moved to Germany, where he now works as a freelance
translator. While hardly a day goes by where he does not play
J. S. Bach and Chopin either on his grand piano or his Korg Concert
5000, he stopped giving classical recitals some years ago, but
still occasionally performs piano improvisations in public. He
also writes music and acquired Cubase in 2005 but is still waiting
for his Luddite soul to take a vacation so he can finally learn
how to use it..
