MAYTIME IN ISCHIA:
British Music Society TRIP TO LA MORTELLA

A unique opportunity has arisen - a first for the BMS
          - for the Society to organise a five-day trip (including four nights’
accommodation) to William and Susana Walton’s famed Mediterranean garden
and musical archives centre La Mortella, on the island of Ischia in
          the Bay of Naples.
Overnight stays at La Mortella may only be arranged
as an escorted tour for between 10-20 people, staying in a newly-built
luxurious, private annexe to the main house - La Foresteria - and enjoying
en-suite rooms with private balconies and exclusive use of the swimming
          pool.
A BMS-organised tour to la Mortella is being planned
for May, or possibly June, 2003. Final dates will be decided according
to demand, but all extend over a five-day, weekend period from Thursday
to Monday, and will start and end in Naples, making it possible for
members to organise their own independent travel arrangements around
their stay on Ischia. Rooms at La Foresteria will be available on a
          single or two-sharing basis.

Itinerary details and costings will be
sent direct to those enquiring of the tour organiser: John Talbot, 34
          Albert Rd, Tonbridge, Kent TN9 2SR or 01732 362066.
When writing, please state a choice of preferred weekends in May-June
2003 for your trip, so that eventually a booking may be made which suits
          a majority of people.
