WOLF-FERRARI, Ermanno

Following the wish of his father, who was a painter, he attended the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome from 1891 to 1892, while learning music in his spare time. He went to Munich to study music in 1893, returning to Venice in 1895. From 1902 to 1907 he was director of the Liceo Benedetto Marcello in Venice. He spent much of his time supervising the production of his own operas.
