WILBYE, John

d Colchester, September-November 1638, aged sixty-four
He entered the service of the Kytsons of Hengrave Hall, a very musical establishment, and stayed there until it was dispersed in 1628. He spent his last ten years in Colchester with Lady Kytson's youngest daughter.
He left a large number of madrigals, and a few sacred works.
