ROGERS, Bernard

d Rochester, New York, 24 May 1968, aged seventy-five
He learned piano from the age of twelve, then studied composition with Bloch, and in 1921 went to the Institute of Musical Art. He taught, and worked as a music critic, and held Guggenheim Fellowships which enabled him to work with Bridge in England and Boulanger in Paris. He taught at the Eastman School until his retirement in 1967, and received honorary degrees from Valparaiso and Wayne State universities.
