DURUFLE, Maurice

d Paris, 16 June 1986 aged eighty-four
He was taught piano and organ privately. In 1920 he went to the Paris Conservatory, gaining several first prizes. In 1930 he was appointed organist of St Etienne-du-Mont. He became professor of harmony at the Paris Conservatory in 1943, remaining there until 1969.
