CILEA, Francesco
b Palmi, Italy, 26 July 1866
d Varezza, 20 November 1950, aged eighty-four
He studied piano at the Naples Conservatory and became professor of composition at the Reale Instituto Musicale in Florence. He wrote little after his most popular opera Adriana Lecouvreur, spending most of his time in a succession of professorial appointments.
