This comprehensive compilation is a must for all who enjoy trumpet with organ.
It includes all the old favourites, together with concertos by Albinoni,
Telemann, Hertel, Haydn and Marcello; far too many items to list the contents
of 48 tracks in all!
The trumpet playing is astonishingly smooth and superbly phrased throughout,
an object lesson to most other instrumentalists. And I strongly suspect that
he was not dependent upon editing to produce these immaculate results.
The original recordings date back to 1977 and were made in EMI's Abbey Road
Studios and in France at Uzes Cathedral and St Pierre le Jeune, Strasbourg.
With adequate documentation and presentation, this is a great bargain, which
has given a lot of listening pleasure.
