Arthur Bliss was a prolific writer as well as
composer. Much of his published musical criticism and other literary
works can be found in Bliss on Music. Perhaps one of the most
novel series of musical articles written was Bliss’s Musical Pilgrimage
of Britain. This was published in the Listener in1935 over a period
of twelve weeks. It is reprinted in its entirety in Bliss on Music.
