BERKELEY, Michael (born London, 29 May 1948) The son of Sir Lennox Berkeley, he received his early musical training at Westminster Cathedral Choir School and then went on to the Royal Academy of Music; he continued his later studies with his father and Richard Rodney Bennett. An articulate communicator on music, he was a BBC Radio Three announcer from 1976 to 1979, and currently a frequent commentator and presenter on both television and radio. |
