This album comprises 16 country ballads, many of them comical narratives delivered in Dolly's inimitable high-spirited style, numbers that will surely raise a smile like Mule Skinner Blues, Joshua, Daddy's Moonshine Still (the latter with its down-to-earth, real-life, tragic edge). Jolene ("please don't take my man…") is well known and delivered here with a pleading yet strongly defiant manner. Equally popular is Here you come again a number one single and a Top Five pop hit sung with great gusto. Most are upbeat and swinging but some are more relaxed, more romantic ballads sung by Dolly with such sincerity that they become quite heart-rending like I will always love you, Heartbreaker and Love is like a butterfly (the latter in an attractive young innocent and optimistic manner).
