A really bad case of mould. Charlecote sits just yards from the River Avon so tends to be cold and damp.

Volunteers in the winter suffer from this but mould thrives. We also get mould on fabrics, wallpapers and behind pictures.

Hence the books are cleaned every couple of years, in rotation.
