Reverend William Lucy was the rector of Hampton Lucy but succeeded to the Charlecote estate in 1721 after the death of the childless Colonel George. He brought his library with him and it was amalgamated into the Lucy Library as were the two Bohun libraries. Many of the books bear his bookplate. He set about reorganising the library which is probably why this book bears his signature and the accession number 58. Unfortunately he died two years later.
