Well most people recognize Queen Anne furniture so I suppose that is a legacy. I wonder if her legs were that shape – hard to tell under those thick dresses!

She was the last Stuart Monarch. She should have ascended to the throne when her sister Mary died but she allowed William to continue to be King until his death in 1702. She had 17 children but most did not survive and none survived her so the throne then went to George 1st – the first of the Hanoverians.

Her legacy?
She hated being a Monarch but was actually very important
She was responsible for the union of the realms of England and Scotland into a single Sovereign state called Great Britain in 1707
She developed the two party state; Whigs and Tories in her day
